Weir High Class of ’70 to meet

WEIRTON — The Weir High Class of 1970 will host their monthly class dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday on the bar side of Mario's Restaurant. All classmates and their guest are welcomed to attend.

An open house will be held at the Crew House Museum on Main Street in Richmond from noon to 4 p.m. on the second and fourth Sunday during June, July and August. The event is sponsored by the Richmond Community Historical Society, with visitors welcome. A large display of JU (former Edison Local) memorabilia will be available for viewing.

Greek Fest press conference is set

STEUBENVILLE — Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church announced its 37th-annual Greek Fest is coming together and a press conference and taste testing has been scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Hellenic Hall, located at 300 South Fourth St.

All media are invited to attend to take photo, video or to interview. Tastings of authentic Greek food and pastries will be available. The festival, which includes live entertainment day and night, will run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 21-23.

Corporate sponsors are Capital Health Network, Eastern Gateway Community College and Trinity Health System. Local organizations and businesses have contributed, with this year's charity of choice being the renovation and repair of the fountain at Fort Steuben. A $1,000 donation will be presented during the festival's ribbon cutting at 10:45 a.m. June 21.

Sycamore mobile food pantry set

STEUBENVILLE — The Sycamore Youth Center will begin operating its Sycamore summer mobile food pantry on Friday. The 10-week program is available to children 1-18 years of age each Friday through Aug. 4. The service is free and operates on a first-come, first-serve basis at the following pantry stops: Ridgewood Place Apartments, Wintersville, 11:15 a.m.; Briarwood Apartments, Wintersville, 11:45 a.m.; Elmer White Family Units, North End in Steubenville, 12:10 p.m.; Earl Rogers Plaza, South End of Steubenville, 12:35 p.m.; corner of Rosswell Avenue and Maple Avenue, 12:55 p.m.; and corner of Maryland Avenue and Pittsburgh Street, 1:20 p.m.

Times may vary. Parents are asked to check delivery times for nearest pantry stop.

Food items for the mobile pantry are made available through partnerships with the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, community contributions and sponsorships. Transportation is provided by Ohio Valley Youth Network/Sycamore Youth Center.

Flea Market at legion

WEIRTON — The Weirton American Legion will hold its monthly flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There are 20 tables, according to officials, who noted the event will include baked goods, vintage items, sports memorabilia and more.

Annapolis mini flea market

BLOOMINGDALE — There will be an Annapolis mini flea market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 49998 Annapolis Road, Bloomingdale. Setup is free and everyone is invited to attend. Sellers are free to bring any items they wish with the exception of guns and alcohol, officials noted. They must also bring their own tables and setup. Hot food and cold drinks will be sold. Jefferson Union Class of ’58 to meet

WINTERSVILLE — The Jefferson Union High School Class of 1958 will meet at 12:30 p.m. June 15 at Murray's Restaurant, located at 498 Cadiz Road. The gathering is to plan for the class's 65th reunion. For information, call (740) 346-0000.

SCSR reschedules meeting

STEUBENVILLE — The Steubenville City Schools Retirees announced their next meeting will take place at 12:30 p.m. June 22 at Holy Trinity Green Orthodox Church, South Fourth Street. The meeting was originally scheduled for the second Thursday of June but the date was changed to help support the upcoming Greek festival.

The SCSR met for lunch at Dee Jay's BBQ Ribs and Grille in Weirton for their latest meeting and noted, "The restaurant is now under new ownership and everyone enjoyed their meals."

Community yard sale, July 1

STEUBENVILLE — The Pleasant Hill School House Historical Museum will be holding a community yard sale, scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 1 at the Four Seasons Community Center, located at 129 School St.
