Almanac Sports Editor

KO REUNION

Keystone Oaks High School Class of 1978 will celebrate its 45th reunion from 7 to 11 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Alpine Club in Bridgeville. A happy hour will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Dormont VFW. CHABAD LUNCH

The Chabad of the South Hills, located on McFarland Road in Mt. Lebanon, will hold a senior lunch and carnival at noon July 12. In addition to a picnic-style lunch there will be interactive games and a presentation by Comfort Keepers on staying active on hot summer days. Suggested donation is $5. RSVP to 412-278-2658.

FLEA MARKET

The ladies guild of St. Catherine Labouré Parish will hold its annual flea market "Timeless Treasures" from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, July 21 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 22 in the LeGras Parish Center (lower level), 320 McMurray Road, Upper St. Clair. Sale items will include jewelry, gently used children's clothing to size 6, toys, decorative items, knick knacks, kitchen items, holiday decorations, linens, tools, books, some furniture and much more. There will also be a boutique offering better quality items. Due to fire restrictions, strollers are not permitted inside the center.

YOGA

A yoga class will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. June 17 on the amphitheater stage in Peterswood Park. The vinyasa-style yoga strengthens and lengthens the body while relaxing the mind is available for ages 12 and over. Fee is $12 ($18 nonmembers). GARDEN TOUR

The Mt. Lebanon Public Library Garden Tour will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 25. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the tour. Seven distinctive gardens will be featured. Since 1991, the tour has raised over $590,000 for the library. Tickets are available at the circulation desk at the library or online at www.mtlebanonlibrary.org/gardentour.

AUP EVENT

The Association of University People will meet for coffee and conversation at 10:30 a.m. June 20 at Mediterra Café in Mt Lebanon, 292 Beverly Rd. RSVP to [email protected]. The group will meet for dinner at 5:30 p.m. June 21 at Pusadees Garden in Lawrenceville. A dinner will also be held at 6 p.m. June 29 at Amels Restaurant at 435 McNeely Rd. HAM RADIO

The Washington Amateur Communications (WACOM) will be holding its amateur radio field day from 2 p.m. June 24 to 2 p.m. June 25 at the Washington County Public Safety Training location at Mingo County Park. The log cabin below the observatory will be staffed with operators who will participate in this nationwide exercise and one of the county's Emergency Communications vehicles will be set up onsite and activated. All activities will take place without the use of normal power, relying on other methods of power including solar and battery. Washington County Commissioner Larry Maggi will be visit at 4 p.m. on June 24.

VENDORS NEEDED

Vendors are needed for the "Flea Market on the Lawn" set for June 24 at the Church of the Atonement, 618 Washington Ave., Carnegie. Cost is $10. Call Joyce 412-276-0366 for details and to register for a space.

SUMMER CAMP

The Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department will offer the following camps:

n Legos from 1 to 5 p.m. June 12-16 for ages 6 to 12

n Future Veterinarians from 1 to 4 p.m. for ages 5 to 10 from June 19-23

n Eco Explorers: Jr. Geologist from 9:30 a.m. to noon for ages 6 to 12 from June 19-23

n Chess from 2 to 5 p.m. for ages 5 to 12 from June 26-30

n Storybook Adventure Theater for ages 7 to 12 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. from June 26-30

PT SENIORS

The Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department offers the following activities for senior citizens:

n Picnic on June 14 featuring Matt Tichon. Hot dogs and hamburgers are provided but guests should bring a covered dish or dessert to share.

n Music Mornings at 10 a.m. at the outdoor amphitheater in Peterswood Park. Senior citizens enjoy light breakfast options as they listen to Tim & Stacy on June 29; Dr. Zoot Duo on July 27 and The Keystone Chorus on Aug. 31.

MEMBER SEARCH

SAFE DRIVING

A senior citizen driver improvement course will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 15 at the Upper St. Clair recreation department. The state Department of Transportation-approved class is designed for drivers age 55 and older. There is no testing or behind-the-wheel driving. It is a refresher of driving skills and knowledge of the rules of the road. Participants receive a multi-year discount on auto insurance.
